EXTRA tonight!

It feels natural and logical that Oddjob in his fifth full-length album pays tribute to film music from the 60 - and 70's. Their music has always had a cinematic quality and a grant equal to an extremely contemporary as backward-looking with an extraordinary ability to capture the sound and feeling from the time these same decades. In addition with unerring timing, choosing to do so in a respectful tribute to the legend, Clint Eastwood, actor, director and jazz lover who turns 80 this year, also feels quite natural. They pick Ennio Morricone, Lalo Schifrin, Lennie Niehaus and Ron Goodwins Clint Eastwood music from classic films and stop with safe touch on them to Oddjob music. From Morricone lonely whistle loop into the Good, the Bad and the Ugly of Schifrin feverish urban music from Magnum Force to Goodwins ominous theme from the Eagle's Nest, it is clear that Oddjob is one of the few bands today capable of managing the legacy of a time when the combination of jazz and rock was the hardest that existed.
